We are so happy with this feeder. The timer feature is what drew us to this model, and we have been more than satisfied with its performance. We originally bought it for the days that we knew we would not be home in time to feed our 70+ pound dog. We used it a few times while we were with him so that he would become used to the feeder and understand that he would get his food from it instead of me or my husband. We (and he) were so happy with the feeder, we let him use it for his evening meal every day. We decided against using the small removable bowl as we were concerned he might think it's a toy and play with it. He is very strong and we weren't sure if it would be durable enough to survive his chewing on it. Instead, we let the kibbles fall into the bowl holder, which is also removable (but not by the dog) and easy to wash.
The only drawback I can think of was the confusion and difficulty we had in trying to figure out the correct setting for the amount of kibbles we wanted dispensed. But overall, we love it and would definitely order it again.
